3.13pm: After a full assessment of the fire ground in Parkerville and Stoneville, authorities have confirmed 46 homes have been lost, and four people are unaccounted for.
DFES Fire Commissioner Wayne Gregson, said additional homes had also been partially damaged.
The full scale of the damage was revealed as acting premier Kim Hames announced a $1 milllion contribution towards the Lord Mayor's Distress Relief for the fire victims.
Immediate funding for some of those affected is also available with payments up to $3000.
Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hairbrushes and hair lackies are now considered luxuries for those who have had to evacuate their homes in the fire ravaged Perth hills.
Laura Bellomo and Jen Schelfhout set up the Perth Hills Bushfire Assistance Facebook page when they heard of the devastation from the bushfires in Parkerville and Stoneville.
"People run out and grab their wallet, a change of clothes and a phone but don't take other bits and pieces," Ms Bellomo said.
She said she expected more people to accept donated items following the news at Monday morning's community meeting that road blocks would likely stay in place for a few days.
"Until this meeting, people weren't sure when they would be able to go back," she said.
Mostly clothes have been donated but other items, such as toys, pet food and toiletries have also.
Ms Bellomo said the items people were most in need of are shampoo, conditioner, hairbrushes and hair elastics.
12.44pm: Four people are unaccounted for in Parkerville.
12.42pm: It has now been assessed that 46 homes have been destroyed. Deputy Premier Kim Hames has announced a $1m relief package for those affected by the fires.
12.26pm: WAtoday reporter Aleisha Orr was at the community meeting earlier here is her report. About 500 people packed into the Brown Park Recreation Centre on Monday morning, most of them with one question in mind - do I still have a home?
The meeting was held to update residents on the situation on the fireground, in Parkerville and Stoneville where 650 hectares of land has been burnt.
A spokesman for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services confirmed that they believed 44 homes had been destroyed, with confirmation of 42 of those.
More losses are expected as only about 60 to 70 per cent of the fire ground has been assessed.
Residents who had evacuated their homes on Sunday and spent the night either at an evacuation centre or at friends or family's houses nearby gave a big round of applause for the firefighters who have been working to put the fire out.
The DFES spokesperson told the crowd that the priority in terms of information was letting the people whose homes had been destroyed.
"We cannot give information that is incorrect or wrong," he said.
This is leaving those who have not been informed that their homes have been destroyed frustrated as they are unsure what has happened to their home.
Jean and George, an elderly couple who have lived in Stoneville for about 24 years are one of many people in this situation.
The couple had to leave their home quickly and while they remembered their mobile phone, they did not take the charger and their battery quickly run out.
Authorities are telling residents that they will receive a phone call if their house has been lost, but Jean and George do not know if they have received a call.
They have contacted the shire as instructed but were told they could not give them any information.
Another community meeting will be held at Brown Park at 4pm on Monday.
11:15am: The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have reminded the public, people are asked not to return to the fire-affected area.
The latest alert and information from DFES said the bushfire is contained but not controlled. Firefighters are expecting strong gusty south-westerly winds during the afternoon.
Western Power has advised that approximately 1000 properties are without power in parts of Parkerville within the following boundaries:
Eastern boundary - Alice Road
Northern boundary - Trimble Road
Western boundary - Stoneville Road
Southern boundary - Gill Road/Milligan Road
11am: The Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund (LMDRF) has been activated to raise and coordinate donations to support the victims of the fire currently burning in parts of Perth hills.
The LMDRF is the recognised state emergency fund and provides relief for personal hardship and distress arising from natural disasters occurring within Western Australia.
No administrative charges are made by the City of Perth for support services provided to the Fund and all money collected goes directly to victims.

10:30am: WA Premier Colin Barnett joined residents gathered at a community meeting over the Perth hills bushfire.
So far 44 homes have been confirmed lost in the blaze, but that number is expected to grow as fire crews continue to bring the flames under control.
The latest from the meeting at Brown Park:
- 13 road blocks are in place and likely to remain for days.
- 60 fire appliances and 250 personnel are at the scene and 650 hectares have been burnt.

A 62-year-old Hovea man has reportedly died, after he lost consciousness on the roof of his house while defending it from a bushfire which has been burning in the Perth hills since yesterday.
St John crews were unable to access the roof despite assistance from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), and the man died at the scene.
Another man is in hospital with injuries, according to media reports.
Authorities have confirmed at least 44 homes have been destroyed.
On Sunday the out-of-control and unpredictable fire had flames 20 metres high and spot fires were starting up to 3.5 kilometres ahead of the blaze.
Two evacuation centre were established at the Mundaring recreation centre and Brown Park in Swan View on Sunday.
At least two firefighters on Sunday had to be treated for heat exhaustion after battling the fire's flames.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
