Coach tips Giant success for western Sydney AFL team

After a year as one of the part-time coaching staff, Dermot Brereton is tipping the GWS Giants to produce a few shocks this year.

And the AFL legend is also tipping big things from Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron.

‘‘Jon’s developing a man’s wind tank now which is going to take him a long long way,’’ he said.

‘‘I wouldn’t have minded being 18 and playing in this team. There is some serious talent there. It’s really exciting.

‘‘These two lads Jon Patton and Jeremy Cameron are showing wonderful, wonderful progress, so I say be patient and what you see this year, rub your hands together and say ‘how good is it going to be?’.’’

The GWS Giants play premiers Sydney Swans and Carlton in a triangular NAB Cup series at Blacktown International Sports Park this Sunday, February 24.

The Giants clash with Carlton at 4.40pm then tackle the Sydney Swans at 6.50pm.
