Teenager attacked by gang in Blacktown

A GANG of  men and women assaulted and robbed a Windsor man, 18, in Blacktown on Saturday.

Police said he got off a train at Blacktown station and was walking along Westfield Place when he was first approached by a man of African appearance at 12.30am.

The man shook his hand before punching him in the face.

He was then surrounded by about a dozen men and women of African appearance who punched and kicked him while demanding money.

The gang ran away after taking his money.

Camper up in smoke

TWO German tourists lost all their belongings after their rented camper van was set on fire in Blacktown on Sunday.

Police said the couple were now being cared for by the German Embassy.

The fire occurred between 9.30am and 1.50am at Alpha Street car park when the couple were absent.

Several other vehicles parked nearby were also damaged by the heat and fire.

Elderly man assaulted

POLICE are looking for two men who attacked a 77-year-old man after breaking into his house in Blacktown on Sunday.

The incident happened at Pank Parade at 5am.

He and his wife, also 77, were asleep when the two men entered their bedroom.

One of the men grabbed the victim and hit him in the face while demanding money.

The other man started rummaging through the couple’s wardrobe.

 The victim’s wife ran to the window and screamed for help.

 A neighbour who heard the woman’s screams called police and the two fled empty-handed.

 The victim was treated for cuts and bruising.

The two men are described as 168cm tall, early 20s, medium build, wearing long dark pants and a dark hooded jacket.

Romeos’ loss

THREE teenage Romeos lost their pushbikes while buying Valentine gifts for their girlfriends in Blacktown last Wednesday.

Police said they had locked their pushbikes in David Lane before walking to a nearby shopping centre at 8.30pm.

The bikes were missing when they returned.

The three bikes are described as a BMX with whitewall tyres, black handlebars, black frame, with a Colony Gold sticker on the handle bars; a BMX with whitewall tyres, red rims and gold coloured back brakes and a blue BMX with a Mongoose sticker on frame and gold caps on the end of the handle bars.

Hiding in the boot

A WANTED man who reversed his car over the foot of a police officer was caught hiding in the boot of a friend’s car in Blacktown last Wednesday.

The Blacktown man, 21, was later charged with stealing from a house, damaging property, break and enter, did not stop for police, reckless driving, disqualified driving and a breach of bail.

He will appear before the Blacktown Local Court on March 14.

Police caught him two days after he injured a police officer while fleeing from them.

They stopped a car which was spotted moving in an erratic manner at Newton Road and found the wanted man in the boot.
