GET out and about in Blacktown City and you're sure to find plenty of activities and things to get involved in this Australia Day, Saturday, January 26.

■ Citizenship Ceremony — Blacktown

Blacktown Council's Australia Day celebrations will include a citizenship ceremony for 150 new citizens at Bowman Hall, Campbell Street, Blacktown, at 11am.

The council will also announce the Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Event of the Year at a private lunch.

■ Australia Day long-weekend events

Celebrate Australia Day all weekend at the Workers Club Group.

● Saturday, January 26 at Workers Sports action starts at 1pm. Free family fun day which will include face-painting, jumping castle, dunking machine for a gold-coin donation (proceeds to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation), petting farm, mini putt golf, air-brush tattoo, ice-cream van (fee), entertainment — The After Party Band — and a sausage sizzle (fee).

● Sunday, January 27: Australia Day Raffles with barbecues, meat trays and Eskies to be won.

At Workers Blacktown, raffle is at 12.30pm.

At Workers Parramatta, raffle is at 1.30pm.

■ Australia Day celebrations — Rooty Hill

Enjoy all the festivities of Australia Day at the council's annual Australia Day celebrations at The Rooty Hill, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill starting at 4pm.

Attractions during the event will include live performances by Mike Champion, Cold Chisel Show, Living Chair, AC/DC Thunderstruck Show and headlining will be Johnny Ruffo and Ross Wilson.

Other activities include free amusement rides, amazing parachute jump with the largest Australian flag in the southern hemisphere and fireworks spectacular to close the celebrations.
