Work on North Kellyville sewerage line set for next year

Construction of the North Kellyville sewerage line will begin in early 2013.

Sydney Water announced Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd would construct the Cattai Creek Sewerage Carrier which will connect residents to water and wastewater by 2015.

The sewerage line is part of $100 million being spent by Sydney Water to bring services to the region to provide up to 12,000 new homes in the north-west.

Construction for services in Riverstone will also begin in early 2013 with partial servicing of second release precincts in Box Hill and Schofields.

Finance and Services Minister Greg Pearce said the work included construction of the $37 million First Ponds Creek and Cattai Creek pipeline at Riverstone and North Kellyville; one of the first projects to be delivered under the Housing Acceleration Fund.

The second release precincts will accommodate around 13,000 new homes and at least 120 hectares of industrial land.

Part of these precincts will be serviced to enable up to 1500 homes in southern Box Hill, 1500 homes in Riverstone and 2000 homes in the northern portion of Schofields to connect to water and wastewater systems.

The works were originally planned for 2018 to 2020.
