DID you live vicariously through your child’s rapture making a Lego creation to enter into last year’s Hawkesbury Show?
Do you love playing with your child’s Lego on the sly - or are you simply an out-in-the-open mature-age Lego fanatic?
Well, now is your time to shine, because the folks behind the Hawkesbury Show have added a brand new Open Lego Class category to this year’s competition - so it’s not just the Under-16s who will have all the fun.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Lego competition, there will also be more cabinet space put aside this year to showcase all those brilliant creations.
Another new category for this year will be a Special Class for exhibitors with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to be hosted in conjunction with this year’s Charity Corner participant, Autism Advisory and Support Service.
There are also classes for Under 6, Under 8, Under 10, Under 12 and Under 16.
Entries close Friday, April 13 at 4pm. Entries are to be submitted with a $2 fee per entry (no entry fee for Special Class), to the Hawkesbury Show office at the Hawkesbury Showground in Clarendon.
All entries must be the work of the entrant, and only Lego- and Duplo-branded items will be accepted (no generic brands). Each exhibit is to be a maximum of 30 centimetres in height, and must be fixed onto the specified Lego or Duplo board (no loose pieces).
Winning entries in each category will win $10 prize money, plus a prize card and ribbon, and second in each class with receive $5, a card and a ribbon. There will also be ribbons and prize cards for encouragement awards.
There will also be special prizes on offer from competition sponsor Rams Home Loans Hawkesbury ($20 and a Lego Brickumentary DVD), Michael Dogger Electrical ($20), and Linda Beneke ($50).
