Man shot in the chest with nail gun in Freemans Reach
A 36-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital in stable condition after a nail gun accident in Freemans Reach this afternoon March 19.
It’s understood the man was accidentally shot in the chest while helping a friend with a home renovation project.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked shortly after 3pm, landing in the grounds at Hawkesbury High School, directly across the road from the scene of the accident.
Police were on hand to take the landing medical team to the patient. NSW Ambulance crews also responded.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the man for a nail gun wound below the sternum.
The man was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
