A man missing in bushland at Kurrajong Heights has been located safe and well.
The 54-year-old Kurrajong Heights man began a bushwalk with a friend about 1.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 27 February 2018), walking to Wheeney Creek and Lagoon Creek where they separated about 3.45pm.
The friend last had phone contact with the missing man about 4.30pm and, when family members’ efforts to locate the man were unsuccessful, police were contacted about 9.30pm.
An extensive search of the area was conducted by police from Hawkesbury Police Area Command, with the assistance of rescue co-ordinators from Blue Mountains Police Area Command.
Just after 10am (Wednesday 28 February 2018), the man walked from the bushland and was sighted by police safe and well.
The man did not require medical attention. He has returned to his family members.
