Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman has promised to ban outlawed bikie gangs from wearing their colours in public as part of a 'war on ice'.
A re-elected Liberal government would crack down on gangs distributing ice and support those addicted to the drug, Mr Hodgman said on Sunday.
"We want to come down like a ton of bricks on those who pedal this dangerous drug," he said in a statement ahead of the March 3 poll.
"Nationally, addiction to ice has fuelled the spread of bikie gangs and international crime syndicates.
"According to police, they are a major player in the distribution of ice in Tasmania."
Under the Liberal plan it would be illegal for a member of an outlawed motorcycle gang to wear or display in public any item with the logo or insignia of an "outlawed" gang.
"I want to be clear: these are not anti-association laws, and legitimate biking groups and organisations will not be affected in any way," Mr Hodgman said.
The Police Association of Tasmania has backed the proposal.
"We have seen an influx of these people recently coming to Tasmania and trying to set up chapters here," president Pat Allen said.
"These are illegal organisations, not social motorcycle clubs."
On-the-spot fines would also be introduced for anyone selling or displaying ice pipes.
The Liberals have previously announced funding for the Salvation Army to continue operating 12 drug and alcohol rehabilitation beds at Ulverstone in the state's north until 2022.
