A woman is due to face Windsor Local Court next month after police allege she paid a prison guard to supply her inmate partner with a sandwich press.
Corrective Services Investigation Unit officers identified the alleged introduction of contraband into the Cessnock correctional facility in December last year, police said in a statement.
“A 29-year-old male employee was arrested and charged by investigators on December 18. He remains before the court,” the statement said.
“Following further inquiries, a 37-year-old woman was arrested at Windsor Police Station about 9.30am on Wednesday, February 14.
“She was charged with corruptly give agent benefit.
“Police will allege in court the woman paid a Correctives Services officer to supply a sandwich press to her partner, who is an inmate at the facility.”
The woman was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Windsor Local Court on Thursday, March 8.
