A HAWKESBURY community group called Improve Richmond Train Line Services is planning a protest at Richmond Oval on Sunday about the state of Sydney Trains.
The group lists its concerns as: ‘unworkable times’ forcing commuters to get up earlier and get home sooner; longer journeys; more stops and overcrowded trains; and, ‘financial disadvantage and social disruption’ for people who have to pay more for other services such as child care because they are away from home for longer.
The group has formed since a number of issues have plagued the trains network since the November timetable updates. There have been a number of delays on the T1 Western Line to Richmond, while a pay dispute between workers and management has added to the troubles.
The protest will be from 2pm on Sunday, February 18.
