A 10-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition after crashing into a pole while being towed by a boat in the Hawkesbury River yesterday afternoon, January 17.
The girl was riding in an inflatable water ski tube with another girl when they fell, crashing through trees. One girl was not injured but the 10-year-old’s head struck a pole.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Laughtondale shortly after 1.30pm, landing on the property beside the river within a 15 minute flight.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the girl at the scene for facial injuries, before she was transferred into the helicopter.
She was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
