HAWKESBURY residents and groups are able to make nominations for the national heritage list until the end of February.
The federal government will accept nominations for the National Heritage List and Commonwealth Heritage List until February 26.
Listed places receive protection under federal government regulations and laws. Approval must then be granted by the government before any changes are made to a listed place.
The Richmond RAAF Base and its North Base Trig Station are on the Commonwealth Heritage List, while the Greater Blue Mountains is on the National Heritage List.
Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman said anyone who wished to make a submission could contact her office for assistance.
“We need to actively push for our heritage to be protected and preserved for future generations,” she said.
