WHAT do ABBA, Split Enz and Radiators have in common? Not much, except songs with the same chords. This Friday night at the Australian Hotel at McGraths Hill The Generators will enlighten you with the connection between these bands with a medley that has had the punters cheering by the last song. The first Friday night the Generators played the Aussie, the dancefloor was filled with blokes in high-viz and workboots – got to be a first! Singer Mark Huxley has a world-class voice which stretches from AC/DC to Creedence Clearwater. The band’s eclectic blend of rock has a common thread of tub-thumping Aussie anthems and rock-out footstompers to get everyone pumping their fists from 8-11pm. The Aussie is on the corner of Windsor and Pitt Town roads. It has a good bistro, and a courtesy bus.
