THE Hawkesbury’s Naomi Stalenberg was kept in the sheds over the past week, thanks to some dominant performances by the Sydney Thunder women.
The Thunder have shot out to a 3-1 start in the Women’s Big Bash League after the start of the competition, and while Stalenberg played a big part in the opening two matches, she did not get a chance to bat in the third and fourth.
Down at Albury on Tuesday, December 12, the Thunder had an eight wicket win over the Melbourne Stars.
The Stars set 114, and the Thunder chased it down in 14.3 overs.
It was the same opponent at Penrith at the weekend and the same story, as the Thunder won by nine wickets this time, with the total of 132 chased down in 15.1 overs.
The Hawkesbury local and Penrith Cricket Club player would no doubt have loved a chance to show off her skill in what is her home ground.
The Thunder’s next match is against the Hobart Hurricanes on December 30 at University of Tasmania Stadium, Launceston, starting at 2.20pm.
