In a thrilling final, Hawkesbury High School have once again claimed victory in the Hawkesbury White Ribbon Cup Touch Football Competition, hosted by Colo High School each year.
Organisers said the day did not start as planned with some early rain which forced the primary schools competition inside for a dodge ball competition instead.
Luckily enough the skies cleared and the ovals dried for the junior and senior touch football competitions.
Colo High School fielded three teams for the junior competition along with teams from Windsor High School, Richmond High School and Hawkesbury High School.
The competition was close through the pool games and came down to a nail biter in the final with Hawkesbury High School scoring after the buzzer to win for the second year in a row.
The senior competition was the closet it’s been in years with teams from Colo High School, Hawkesbury High School, Windsor High School and a RAAF team.
“Each game was played with a high intensity but within the spirit of the game,” a spokesperson said.
Hawkesbury High School were the eventual winners with Windsor High School not far behind.
The dodge ball competition was tough and action packed also with some tough games between Kurrajong, Richmond North and Kurmond. Kurrajong just hung on with a cliff hanger of a game to win the cup for the third year in a row.
“Thank you to all those that were involved and help raise awareness of this great cause,” a Colo High School spokesperson said.
“Huge thank you to Smik Surf, Richmond MacDonald’s and The Vegi Patch who donated prizes on the day.
“Also Bakers delight in the Richmond Market place for donating the bread and Value Valley Meats for supplying the sausages for the BBQ on the day.
