NAOMI Stalenberg and the Sydney Thunder women will start their Women’s Big Bash League campaign this weekend as they open the season against the Melbourne Renegades.
The Thunder will play a double header at the weekend against the Renegades on Saturday and then against the Sydney Sixers on Sunday.
The first match will start at 1.45 at North Sydney Oval on December 9. The second match will start at 2pm at North Sydney Oval on December 10.
Two days later on December 12 they will be at Albury to take on the Melbourne Stars from 2pm in the first of two matches to be played against them in a week.
The Thunder won the opening WBBL season, defeating their crosstown rivals the Sixers, but finished in sixth place in the 2016-17 season, while the Sixers won the competition.
The Thunder will also play a match at Howell Oval, Penrith, against the Melbourne Stars on Saturday, December 16 from 1pm. It will be the only WBBL match played at Penrith this season.
