STEVE Conran won a ProAm event at Windsor Golf Club on Wednesday, November 22, while a local group of Steve ‘Chops’ Garrick, Bruce Schultz and Mark Osborne won the amateur tournament.
The ProAm had 55 players from the Australian Legends Tour, with another 128 amateur golfers, the majority of whom were Windsor members, getting in among the action.
Club pro Adam Kelleher said it was the first time in 10 years the club had held a similar event.
Kelleher said the ProAm committee of himself, fellow professional and wife Corinne, as well as club captain Graham Rutley and general manager Rob McLean, organised the event.
Kelleher said they hoped to host a bigger ProAm in 2017.
As for the golf, Steve Conran said the course was a treat after shooting 67, which was four under par.
Only four professionals shot under par on the event. Grant Kenny shot 68, while Brad Burns shot 69.
Former Richmond golfer Mike Hardwood, who spends most of his time playing on European tours, shot 70.
