Perth's summery weather is taking a break, just in time for the weekend, with rain on the radar and temperatures dipping into the low twenties on Saturday and Sunday.
While the mercury on Wednesday was set to reach 31 degrees and a hot 36 on Thursday, the Bureau of Meteorology said Perth residents could expect possible showers and storms for the rest of this week.
Duty forecaster Ricus Lombard said Perth's unpredictable weather was not unusual for this time of the year.
"We're in the season where we're switching over into summer so the weather does tend to vary a lot," he said.
"Over the coming days there may be some isolated rain, if we see heavier falls your greatest risk is Friday night onto Saturday morning as we have a cold front.
"The showers would not be overly heavy; you're looking at maybe five millimetres or ten at most."
It looks like the warmer weather will hit Perth in the middle of next week, before dropping to 23 degrees on the weekend.
Perth experienced its hottest start to November averaging at a sweltering 30.4 degrees, breaking the record of 29.7 degrees in 1918.
