HAWKESBURY Race Club's leading local trainers were at it again over the past week, accounting for three new winning runners to continue an enviable run of recent success for Hawkesbury-trained horses.
Brad Widdup's remarkable season continued in the final event on Thursday's Richmond Club Charity meeting at Hawkesbury, with Dancers and Christian Reith knuckling down to the wire as a deserving $2.40 favourite.
The following day, Scott Singleton opened the card at Bathurst with the well-tried Itasca making it back-to-back wins.
At the same meeting, Garry Frazer provided his third winner this month courtesy a brave Music Miss, with the dedicated Jess Taylor in the saddle for both of Hawkesbury's winners.
The success of Hawkesbury's horses mirrors the overwhelming popularity for the club's biggest Spring meeting - Lander Toyota Ladies Day, held on VRC Oaks day next Thursday November 9 .
The competitive fashions on the field competition returns this year with prizes for classic and contemporary style, along with the best hat and best dressed male; all vying for a share in a rather hefty $10,000 prize pool.
The Chandon Lawn Marquee is the best place to view the action both on and off the track, and tickets are selling fast.
