A man is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after his car left the road and hit a power pole in Clarendon on Saturday night, October 21.
Emergency services were called to Hawkesbury Valley Way at Clarendon, near Windsor, about 12.20am, and found a Subaru WRX had stuck a power pole.
The driver, a 34-year-old man was trapped for some time before being released and treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition to undergo surgery. Police said the man sustained fractured ribs, a fractured spine and head injuries in the crash.
Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command established a crime scene which was forensically examined.
Inquiries are continuing.
