A Wilberforce family have been left devastated after their family home was destroyed by fire yesterday, October 19.
Around 10 fire crews from NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Rural Fire Service were called to the fire on Moles Road yesterday at 1:15pm to find the home completely engulfed.
The RFS fire controller on the ground yesterday said that everyone at the home was accounted for, but despite the hard work by all fire fighters at the scene, the home was unable to be saved.
Distraught friends and family were at the scene yesterday, moving horses to safety and comforting one another as little more than the hills hoist clothes line was left standing.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said yesterday that initial reports was that the fire was first reported to be in the roof of the house, but further investigations are expected to be carried out over coming days.
The fire was brought under control around 3pm yesterday.
