Police are urging residents of the Hawkesbury to ensure they lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of site after a spate of car break ins recently.
Areas affected in recent days include Bligh Park, Richmond, Windsor, North Richmond and Kurrajong Heights.
Incidents reported include: Londonderry Road, Richmond about 2am on Saturday October 14. John Tebbutt Place, Richmond about 7am on October 14. McQuade Park, Windsor between 11am and 9pm on October 14. Ignatius Ave, North Richmond between 8pm on October 14 and 4pm on October 15. Don Street, Kurrajong Heights between 11pm on Friday October 13 and 8am on October 14 and Warks Hill Rd, Kurrajong Heights between 11.45pm on October 13 and 8.40am on October 14.
“Indications are that the owners left valuables in the vehicles and the cars were not secured,” A spokesperson for Hawkesbury LAC said.
“Unfortunately, there are people around who take advantage of this so the message needs to be shared ‘Lock it or lose it’."
Police are urging owners to ensure vehicles are secured and valuables removed when not in use.
