Integrity, service and courage were the core topics at this year’s Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum.
Federal MP for Mitchell Alex Hawke and Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum chief executive officer Ronie Quinn hosted 153 students at the forum.
“The Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum was an amazing success with 153 students from 15 local high schools involved – the Forum is a significant opportunity for the students to be inspired and encouraged for their future potential in the lead up to their final year of school,” Mr Hawke said.
“I pay tribute to the principals for without their strong support the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum."
It is a two and a half day live-in program for year 11 students, based on the values of integrity, service and courage. Students participated in team building activities, small group discussions, and a community service project at Aminya Village and McCall Gardens. They listened to inspirational talks from Munjed Al Muderis, Annabelle Chauncy, Hannah Murray, Zali Steggall and Barnaby Howarth.
"The students who attended the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum this year were energetic, enthusiastic and committed throughout the Forum,” Ms Quinn said.
“I can’t wait to see how they positively impact their schools and the wider community in the future.”
The forum was held at Vision Vallery from October 12-14.
