CRAFTS, workshops and interactive demonstrations will all be part of the agenda for a special day in The Ponds.
The Ponds Kellyville Ridge Community Association is hosting the ‘We Love The Ponds Waterways and Wildlife Day’ on Saturday.
President Alex Hughes said the purpose of the day was promoting awareness of waterways and wildlife in the community.
“We took the opportunity to apply for a grant with Blacktown Council, and the main charter of the grant is to encourage the community to look after the waterways in The Ponds,” Mr Hughes said.
“We have a number of events planned for the day.”
The day will include interactive sessions with Featherdale Wildlife Park, Duck Detective Walks around Lake Ironbark and Water Warrior. The sessions and activities are free.
Mr Hughes said the community feedback had been very positive.
“We are also running a drawing competition for students from some of the local schools,” Mr Hughes said.
“The winning entry will win an incursion for their school from Featherdale Wildlife Park. It should be a really good day for everyone and the more people we can get down here the better.”
The community day will be held at The Lake Neighbourhood Centre from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, October 14.
