A FREE breakfast seminar at Windsor Function Centre will highlight the benefits for businesses that employ people with a disability.
The two-hour seminar is being funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and hosted by Hawkesbury Council as part of the Nepean Jobs for All project, a partnership with Penrith and Blue Mountains councils.
During the breakfast, employers will be able to chat with spokespeople from other businesses that have employed people with disability and found it has brought benefits to their business.
Hawkesbury Mayor, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett said employing people with disability does not cost any more than employing people without disability.
“Building an inclusive, diverse workforce benefits everyone – your employees, your organisation and the community as a whole; it makes good business sense,” she said.
“The Australian Government provides supports to businesses looking to employ people with a disability, including funding for workplace changes, buying equipment and access to services.”
The Nepean Jobs for All project aims to provide businesses with information, training and resources to help lift barriers to employing people with disability.
The business breakfast will take place from 7.30am until 9.30am on Wednesday, October 18, at the Windsor Function Centre at 2 Dight Street, Windsor.
