IT’S big and pink and bouncy and has funny things sticking out of it – it’s the Big Bowel!
The Big Bowel is coming to the Hawkesbury next week –Bunnings McGraths Hill on Monday, October 2 from 11am-2pm, then the RAAF Base for RAAF personnel on Tuesday, October 3, 2-5pm.
The Gazette tried to broker the bowel to be in Richmond Park, but Bowel Cancer Australia said Council wanted to charge them while Bunnings agreed to have it for free.
The walk-through three- dimensional bowel is seven metres long, showing healthy tissue, pre-cancerous polyps, advanced polyps and a cancerous tumour.
Research has shown visitors to the Big Bowel are more likely to do the bowel test after seeing it, with its message that bowel cancer is ‘preventable, treatable and beatable.’
