HAWKESBURY trainer Brad Widdup snagged another win at his home track in front of a bumper crowd on a day where the Hawkesbury Race Club raised $100,000 for Pink Finss.
Widdup’s four-year-old mare Pleasantries won a 1100-metre maiden handicap on Thursday, September 21.
Pleasantries, ridden be Christian Reith, just edged out race favourite Oxford Bella, trained by Kim Waugh.
The win was worth $16,630 for the owners of Pleasantries.
Hawkesbury trainer Mitch Newman’s Supreme Escape ran third in the race.
While he had no winners, Hawkesbury trainer Scott Singleton saw a number of charges place during the day.
In race one, Golden Tresor ran third, but also last in a race that only had three runners after a couple of late scratchings.
Later in the day, Singleton's Court Victory ran third to On The Spot, ridden by Hawkesbury jockey Tye Angland in a 1300-metre handicap.
The following race saw Singleton’s Itasca narrowly lose to race favourite History Repeats, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, in a 1800-metre maiden plate.
