Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from Castle Hill since Friday.

Youliang Lin, 84, left his home in Cooper Court about 8am on Friday, September 15 and has not been seen since.

There are serious concerns for his welfare as he has dementia and might not know how to get home again.

Mr Lin does not speak English.

Police have conducted extensive searches of the local area and continue to make inquiries, but they are also asking for anyone who sees Mr Lin to contact them.

Mr Lin is described as being of Asian appearance, about 175cm tall with a slim build and short grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jumper and long black pants.
