THERE’S plenty on at Australiana Pioneer Village this weekend.
On Sunday, September 17 there will not only be a wedding expo for brides to be and their beaus from 10am-4pm on the Green, there will also be all the delightful history-themed attractions.
Go on the free Village tour, see butter being churned, take the Guided Animal Feed Walk, enjoy the street theatre, and see the 1800s lessons being given in the schoolhouse.
The Village will also be open for the school holidays on the weekends of September 26-27 and October 2-4 from 10am-4pm.
The theme for the school holiday program is fairies and pirates.
Kids will be able to search for hidden fairy and pirate words around the Village, take part in fairy activities, pirate activities, dress up as either a fairy or pirate and enter our dress-up competition and maypole dancing.
There’ll be games, age races, sack races, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races, egg & spoon races, and tug-o-war with teams of children and teams of dads.
Parents and visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch or buy tucker from shops on site. Try out the delicious freshly cooked damper and scones from the Damper Camp in an 1874 sulky shed.
Entry is adults $5, school-aged children $3, family $15 (two adults and two-school-aged children). Children under five are free. It’s on Rose Street, Wilberforce, and there’s plenty of free parking.
