- UPDATE: Please note, we have extended the competition deadline until COB, October 27.
THE Hawkesbury Gazette will be calling on the pride and love residents feel for their region’s visual beauty when it plays host to the We Are Hawkesbury: 25 Places photographic competition.
It’s no secret, the Hawkesbury region boasts much in the way of natural beauty.
The Hawkesbury River provides the surrounding areas with lush, green and fertile farm land. In the mountains, there are huge swathes of bush and mighty trees, still untouched by man. The town centres are filled with picturesque streets, more reminiscent of a country village than outer suburbs of a city.
Capturing these elements in picture format is at the core of the competition.
Of course the competition also looks to uncover and celebrate the talented locals behind the lens.
Their works, when combined, will help us create a local scenic trail through the region, showing fellow residents they do not have to go very far to get away.
The Hawkesbury community prides itself on the visually stunning piece of Australia it inhabits, and visitors to the region are always left impressed by the magnificent scenery. Sadly, some forget the beauty that rests just beyond their doorsteps. This will serve as a reminder that we do indeed live in an exquisite part of the state.
The competition
The Hawkesbury Gazette will host a landscape photograph competition, which started on September 11, and will run until October 13.
There will be two categories: senior and junior (under-18 years).
The aim of the competition is to showcase the natural beauty of the Hawkesbury region, with landscape photographs taken from across the region.
The best photos will be used to promote the region.
To enter, please send an e-mail to wearehawkesbury@fairfaxmedia.com.au and in the subject line include your name and "25 Places".
