August has been a good example of how Arndell Anglican College provides students with a diverse curriculum to meet the diversity of student interests.
Year 7 students attended an incursion as part of Science Week called Global Gamble: A Climate-Change Comedy. Through an interactive show the students participating and providing suggestions to the performers. The students learned the importance of actions such as turning off switches to save energy and resources. The students learnt that every little bit helps.
Earlier in the month Year 6 students spent time listening to a talk from Linda of Hawkesbury Helping Hands (HHH) about homelessness, helping others and making a difference in our community. The students then engaged in a Q&A session where they impressed Linda with how engaged they were and how honest and open the questions they asked were. After the session the students together with Linda harvested some beautiful vegetables they had grown especially for HHH.
Arndell also hosted its 24th Annual Interschools Equestrian Carnival which was attended by over 230 riders. The carnival attracts riders from all over the state and is renowned for its inclusiveness from beginner to open in both the junior and senior categories.
