A 26-year-old motorcycle rider has been taken to hospital after colliding with a van on Old Pitt Town Road at Oakville last night.
Just after 9pm emergency services were called to the location following reports the two vehicles had collided.
Initial investigations suggest the rider has lost control on the approach to a bend, with the bike dropping to the road surface and sliding onto the incorrect side of the road. An approaching van has attempted to avoid colliding with the bike and rider who was also sliding across the road.
Unfortunately the collision was not able to be avoided.
A 26-year-old male rider was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the van was breath tested at the scene with a negative result.
Investigations are continuing. If you have witnessed this incident and have not already provided your details to Police, please contact Windsor Police Station on 4587 4099.
