Bowel Cancer Australia’s wonderful pink inflatable bowel, complete with gross polyps and growths is every journalist’s punning dream – and we’ve managed to go two paragraphs so far without making one.
Bowel Cancer Australia's Big Bowel is 2.4m high and seven metres in length, and entertains while it educates about the dangers of bowel cancer, which kills an average of 80 Australians a week.
It’s the second most common type of newly diagnosed cancer in Australia affecting both men and women and is Australia's second biggest cancer killer after lung cancer. It’s hoped the Big Bowel will set up in Richmond Park but is subject to approval from Council.
