Police say a woman was being following by another car before her vehicle slammed into a home in St Marys on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the home on Caines Crescent about 1.30pm, and found the wreckage of the crash.

A woman, 21, who was driving a silver Ford Falcon, was treated for minor injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The impact of the crash left her car crumpled and caused extensive damage to the home.

Several residents were inside the house at the time, but none were injured.

It’s alleged a man, 23, was following the woman in another car when she lost control.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the man run from his vehicle to check on the welfare of the woman after the crash.

He questioned by police and arrested, and has been taken to Penrith police station.

Police are investigating if the incident was related to domestic violence.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
