ARE you a sucker for the bright lights of Hollywood? Are you a movie buff and Oscars fanatic?
Get down to the Wilberforce School of Arts Hall to test your knowledge at a fun-filled Trivia Night on Saturday, August 26, in support of local charity, SPIN Hawkesbury (Supporting People in Need).
SPIN provides short-term financial assistance by way of small, interest-free loans, to help individuals and families get back on their feat.
Charity founder, Maureen Bartlett, described SPIN as a service providing “a hand up - not a hand out”.
The Trivia Night will have a ‘Hollywood’ theme and attendees are invited to dress-up as their favourite star and dress-up their table. Prizes will be on offer for Best Dressed Table, Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male.
Raffle prizes will include Bridge Climb tickets, Four Seasons and Red Balloon vouchers, and high tea at the Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury.
“Enjoy a sausage sizzle on your way into the hall, bring some nibbles and drinks, dress up and have fun. Enjoy some supper at the end of the Quiz,” said SPIN founder, Maureen Bartlett.
“Funds from the Trivia Night will be made available for grants - applications will open September 2017.
“Recently SPIN signed an MoU [memorandum of understanding] with Hills Community Aid, and can now offer NILS [No Interest Loan Scheme] loans, so if you are in need check out our website www.spinhawkesbury.org.au or go to our Facebook page and send a message.”
SPIN is a new charity set-up by Ms Bartlett – who is owner of Encore Beauty in Castle Hill – as well as Ashlea Grimley, a young mum, and Lyn Heazlewood, a friend of Ms Bartlett’s.
The Trivia Night will kick-off at 6pm at the Wilberforce School of Arts, located at 531 Wilberforce Road, Wilberforce.
Tickets are $25 per person, or $175 for a table of eight. Buy them via the Eventbrite website (search for Hollywood Trivia Night Charity Fundraiser) or call 02 9686 3499 during business hours.
