Women from across the Hawkesbury and the country have come together to donate more than 150 bras and new underwear for women in Fiji.
The collection of bras by North Richmond woman, Kat McIntosh, will be sent over to her friend, also a former Hawkesbury resident who now lives in Fiji, to be given to those women who need them most.
“For many Fijians their wage is only $1.50 a day and bras cost $50 to purchase,” Mrs McIntosh said.
“Sadly many can never afford bras to wear which we take for granted. And so came about the collection.”
Mrs McIntosh said she was overwhelmed from the support she received and the donations.
“To date I have received over 150 bras and over 35 pairs of (brand new) Bonds underpants,” she said.
“I would like to thank Angie Scoble and her friends and the Arbonne community.
“It is wonderful to see what we can do when we band together to help others.”
Mrs McIntosh said the bras and underwear will be sent in coming weeks.
