Los Angeles: Justine Damond's final resting place will be Australia.
A memorial will be held in Minneapolis next month and Ms Damond's ashes will then be taken back to Australia with the full blessing of her US fiance, Don Damond.
The agreement was struck between Mr Damond and her father John Ruszczyk, News Corp reported.
Ms Damond, 40, moved from Sydney to be with Mr Damond and the couple planned to marry in Hawaii next month.

However, in a horrifying incident that made headlines around the world, she was shot dead by a Minneapolis police officer last week.
She called 911 fearing a woman was being raped near her home and, when she approached a responding police vehicle, Officer Mohamed Noor, who had just two years' experience in the force, shot her in the stomach.
It is the latest police shooting in Minnesota.
An investigation by a unit independent of the Minneapolis Police Department is under way.
Officer Noor on Tuesday successfully shut down an unauthorised GoFundMe page promoted as attempting to raise $US64,000 ($80,000) for him.
Officer Noor's lawyer, Tom Plunkett, said his client was not the recipient of the funds raised.
Early on Tuesday, just $US185 had been donated, but soon after it was closed.
"Officer Noor has asked that the page be taken down and any money raised be returned to the donors," Mr Plunkett told AAP.
"He did not authorise this, he did not provide the photograph which appears in the fundraiser and he is not the recipient of the funds."
The lawyer said two similar pages have already been removed.
Ms Damond, from Sydney's northern beaches, was a trained veterinarian who worked as a spiritual healer, and yoga and meditation teacher.
