IT’S been four long months, but the Fitzroy Hotel in Windsor launches its latest incarnation this Friday, July 28.
Owner Craig Thomson said it will open at 9am for the shiftworkers but the action will kick off from 4pm when lingerie waitresses start their shift, until 8pm.
Then from 9.30pm when the bistro closes there will be a big night on the turntable, with seven DJs spinning their wares until 3am.
Mr Thomson said he will continue the lingerie waitresses every Friday, and the DJs, but fewer.
The 1850s pub closed in March when previous leaseholders Jennie and Philip Young placed the business into voluntary liquidation following insolvency.
A pre-existing tussle over assets held things up for some time until a compromise was reached.
Renovations include new carpet, resurfacing the deck and a children’s play area, but according to comments on the pub’s Facebook page, not everyone is keen on the lingerie waitresses.
Mr Thomson said when they signed the lease he and his wife would live on the premises and operate it themselves, helped by Cram Bar staff.
