IT’S always anticipated in Hawkesbury households who have a furry four-legged family member – the annual Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter Open Day.
It’s on9.30am-midday this Saturday, July 29 at the animal shelter at Mulgrave Road, Mulgrave. As always, many dogs will be dressed up, with bandanas or glittery collars or other equivalents of their Sunday best.
This year, besides the mobile dog wash, barbecue and animal-themed stalls, there will be an Australian working dog rescue demonstration including a dog high jump and herding, and – wait for it – free microchipping! This could save you hundreds of dollars as well as the heartache of a lost pet. It’s for Hawkesbury residents only and is limited to two pets per household. It will operate from opening at 9.30am to 11.30am. More: 4560 4644.
