CELEBRATE the tail-end of Winter and enjoy a day outdoors in the beautiful August sun (fingers crossed) at the annual Maroota Muster spring fair.
The Muster will be held on the grounds of Maroota Public School on Sunday, August 20 - so mark the date in your diary because this year’s event is sure to be a hit for the whole family.
The muster is a family ‘funday’, complete with carnival rides, amusements, showbags, market stalls, hot food and snacks, and entertainment. There is also a petting zoo, and an array of tractors, trucks and machinery.
Valerie Harper, Muster Committee treasurer, said the school’s P&C Committee has been running the Muster for 14 years.
“The Maroota Muster is a great community fundraiser for our small school and includes an enjoyable, scenic country drive out to Maroota,” Ms Harper told the Gazette.
“This year we have the always popular chocolate wheel with great prizes, awesome rides for the kids, plenty of market stalls, classic car competition, fruit and veg stall, plant stall, sheep shearing and whip cracking, and our very popular hot food BBQ.”
All funds raised at the Muster will go back into the school, to improve facilities for students and teachers.
The Maroota Muster will take place from 10am until 3pm, and Maroota Public School is located at 4540 Old Northern Road, Maroota.
