HAWKESBURY Council’s Companion Animal Shelter will be open to the public on July 29.
The Shelter will be open from 9.30am until noon and free micro-chipping will be offered to Hawkesbury residents.
Council has encouraged people with ex-shelter animals to bring them and share their stories.
“Around 500 people and their pets attended the combined annual Hawkesbury Companion Animal Shelter Open Day and National Tree Day giveaway in 2016. Two dogs and one cat were rehomed, with lots of others putting their names down on a waiting list for a pet, when they are ready to be adopted. The Shelter also raised over $400 in cash donations. We hope to see you at the 2017 Open Day which is shaping up to be the best one yet,” said Hawkesbury Mayor Mary Lyons-Buckett.
The address is 10 Mulgrave Road, Mulgrave.
Next door, there will plants given away by the Hawkesbury Community Nursery.
