Hills Crime Wrap: A man has been caught drink driving

A man is due to face court after he was caught high-range drink driving on the M2. 

The Kings Langley man, 24, was stopped while driving on the M2 at North Rocks just before midnight on Friday, July 7.

Police said they spotted a passenger in the car lean out from a back-seat window and pick up a traffic control cone on the M2.

Police travelling west did a U-turn and stopped the VW Golf.

The passenger allegedly had two traffic cones in the car.

A roadside breath test returned positive and further breath analysis revealed a reading of 0.164.

He is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court later this month.

Tools taken in Kellyville

More than $900 worth of tools were stolen from a vehicle in Kellyville. 

Police said the Holden Colorado was parked on Valleyview Place when the theft occurred some time from 11.30pm on Sunday, July 9 to 12.30am on Monday, July 10.

Thieves rummaged through two toolboxes and stole a blower, screw gun, impact gun, grinder, charger, radio and three batteries. 

Teen drug bust

A teenager’s next of kin has been called after he was caught with cannabis in Carlingford. The 15-year-old from North Rocks was approached by police after they saw drug equipment, scissors and two empty satchels on a table in Don Moore Reserve at about 7.30pm on Friday, July 7.

The youth removed a small container of cannabis from his pocket. Police seized the drug and notified his next of kin.

Cannabis caution

A man has been given a warning after he was caught with cannabis in Winston Hills. Police were called by a concerned member of the public about a man slumped in the front seat of a car on Gibbon Road at about 4am on Sunday, July 9.

An Ermington man, 26, was spoken to by police who admitted to having cannabis in the vehicle; a search discovered a quantity of cannabis.

The drugs were seized, his licence was suspended and police issued the man a cannabis caution.
