GREATER Western Sydney Giants defender Aidan Corr has re-signed with the club until the end of the 2020 season.
Corr, who is playing in his fifth season, said he had no hesitation in re-signing with the Giants.
“I jumped straight at it like a lot of the other boys have lately,” he said.
“I was rapt when the offer was put there as it was the best thing for me and my football.
“I love it here in Sydney and coming to work every day with 40 ripping blokes made it very easy for me to sign.”
Corr said this season, where the Giants are favourites to take out the flag, was a far cry from the early years of the expansion club.
“Early on we were getting smacked. The backline was just watching the ball sail over our heads and it was pretty tough,” he said.
“Starting to win together and appreciating all those little wins has started to bond us together and we’re enjoying it together.”
Giants manager of football Wayne Campbell said Corr fully deserved his contract.
“Aidan has been through his fair share of ups and downs with injury but this year he has established himself as a reliable part of our backline,” he said.
The Giants are in first place after 14 rounds of AFL action so far, and are coming off a 60-point victory over the Brisbane Lions.
The Giants will take on Geelong on Saturday at Spotless Stadium at 7.25pm.
