Police find alleged thief hiding under bed after executing search warrant at Oakhurst home

An alleged thief wanted for a series of break-ins across north west Sydney was found hiding under a bed in an Oakhurst home.

The man, 31, is believed to have broken into several cars and homes in The Hills, Macquarie Fields and Ryde areas between Friday, June 2 and Monday, June 5.

Following an investigation he was tracked down in Oakhurst on June 15.

Officers from Operation Countdown and members of the dog unit attended a home about 3pm to arrest the man.

He was found hiding soon after.

The man was taken to Mount Druitt police station and charged with aggravated break enter and steal, two counts of break enter and steal, and stealing a car.

The alleged thief was refused bail to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Friday.
