Hawkesbury Police are investigating how a number of burnt out cars happened to end up in a truck stop at Kurrajong Heights recently.
A Toyota Landcruiser and Toyota Hilux 4WD were located dumped at the truck stop on Bells Line of Rd, approximately 700m east of Pittmans Rd at about 2.10am on May 14.
The vehicles had been set alight and both vehicles had been stripped. It appears the vehicles were transported to the rest area already stripped before they were chained to a tree and dragged off a transport vehicle and set alight.
Police conducted a canvass of the area and number of exhibits were seized by Police for forensic examination.
Officers also spoke with Rural Fire Service personnel who had attended the fire to glean further information.
CCTV was sought from businesses along Bells Line of Road and police are looking at other investigative processes to try and identify the person or persons responsible.
Anyone with information in relation to the dumped vehicle shells is urged to make contact with Windsor Police or Crime Stoppers.
