Godolphin announced James Cummings as its new Australian head trainer on Tuesday.
Cummings, a fourth generation trainer from a legendary family, replaces John O'Shea, who stepped down from the position last month, and will start his tenure on July 8.
"It is truly an honour to be asked to join the Godolphin team as the Head Trainer in Australia and I am very grateful to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed for the opportunity," Cummings said.
"I am confident in my experience and I definitely have the enthusiasm to build on the incredible success that has already been achieved by Godolphin in Australia.
"I have been very fortunate in my career so far to have learnt my trade from some of the best in the business and I will be forever grateful to the fantastic and loyal owners that have supported me in my career so far, in particular Eduardo Cojuanco Junior and Dato Tan Chin Nam."
Cummings had been rumoured as the leading candidate for the position since O'Shea stepped down, and Fairfax Media revealed he had taken the role on Monday.
The 29-year-old has spent a decade working at Leilani Lodge at Randwick and became a foreman for his grandfather, the legendary Bart, for four years before training in partnership with him for two years.
The pair trained Hallowed Crown to become the first unbeaten winner of Golden Rose in 2015 and to win a Randwick Guineas before he retired to stud at one of Sheikh Mohammed's Darley studs.
Since his grandfather's death, Cummings has trained in his own right from Leilani Lodge preparing 108 winners of more than $7 million in prizemoney, including dual group 1 winner Prized Icon. It drew the attention of Godolphin looking for a new chapter in its history.
"James is a great fit for Godolphin and his appointment is an exciting new chapter in the Godolphin story in Australia," Godolphin Australia boss Henry Plumptre said.
"In a short space of time James has established himself as one of the most talented trainers in Australia and he has all the attributes to take us in the direction we want to go as a racing team both on and off the track."
Darren Beadman will continue in his interim role as Godolphin trainer until July 8.
