Greenway Village will officially open its doors this week

Enthusiastic shoppers will get their preview and be the first to enjoy shopping with Greenway Village with a special opening today.

Greenway Village, located just off Richmond Road, is the first local shopping centre to open in the fast growing Marsden Park Precinct.

Newquest Property director Neil Smith said particular attention was paid to design detail and the selection of retail tenants to best meet the demands of the local community – both now and into the future.

Greenway Village opens with:

  • - a full-line (3,400 sqm) Woolworths supermarket plus BWS
  • - Specialty retailers including Choice Pharmacy, Greenway News, Captian Phones, My Style Cuts,
  • Peal Nails and Urban Land and Housing
  • - Eateries including Three Beans Café, Ok Sushi, Greenway Vietnamese & Pho, Greenway Kebab,
  • and Annie’s Bakery
  • - A Medical Centre
  • - An ATM machine; and
  • - 186 on grade car parking spaces.

“The name ‘Village’ is also important,” Mr Smith said.

“A village is welcoming, it’s familiar and personal. This concept has driven the design and layout throughout of the new shopping centre.”

Residents have been invited to spend a shopping voucher and get a preview of the Greenway Village shopping experience with doors officially open to the new Woolworths, BWS and specialty retailers from 5pm.

In line with this, the management of Greenway Village will remain in the hands of Newquest.

“We’re part of the ‘village’,” Mr Smith said.

“We want to ensure the relevance and the high quality presentation of the centre is maintained over time.”

Urban Land Housing principal Chris Lowry said modern day shopping centres, like Greenway Village, fill the role once held by a village green or market square.

“They’re a place to relax, to meet up with friends, and to make new connections. Greenway Village will be the heart of this burgeoning community,” he said.

Urban Land Housing already has an established presence in the North West.

“Our headquarters are in Norwest and we’re already the number one agent in Stone Cutters Ridge, Colebee and Marsden Park,” Mr Lowry said.

“We’re thrilled to have a place in this burgeoning growth centre with its employment opportunities, proximity to Scholfield train station and the M7 as well as the connectivity to the main arterial leading to Elara.”

The shopping village will officially open its doors on Wednesday, May 17 .

A community fun day will be held at Greenway Village between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, May 20 with activities and entertainment all day including kids cooking demonstrations, sporting activities, face painting, jumping castle and giveaways.
