A woman will front Mount Druitt Local Court next month after she was allegedly caught drunk behind the wheel of a mail truck on Saturday night.

Police received several calls from concerned residents about 9.30pm on May 13, who reported a vehicle driving erratically in Dharruk.

Proactive Crime Team officers were already patrolling the area and pulled over the vehicle on Popondetta Park, Emerton soon after.

The female driver, 33, allegedly gave a positive roadside breath test.

Further testing at Mount Druitt police station allegedly confirmed she was driving at a high blood alcohol range.

The woman was fined and her licence was suspended.

Police also seized two crates of undelivered mail, which were given the the mail company.


An unlicensed driver has been granted conditional bail following a police pursuit through Tregear on Saturday.

The man, 24, was caught speeding in a Toyota Hilux on Aurora Drive about 8pm on May 13.

Police tried to pull the utility over but the driver refused to stop.

A pursuit began but was terminated for safety reasons.

The alleged driver was arrested soon after at a home in Whalan and charged with driving while disqualified and not stopping in a police pursuit.

He will face Mount Druitt Local Court in June.
