The Sydney Writers’ Festival is coming to Hawkesbury Central Library for the first time ever.
Sandra Leigh Price, writer of The River Sings, will be providing an author talk at Hawkesbury Central Library on Wednesday, May 24 from 6pm until 7.30pm.
The River Sings has been described as “glittering and gritty”. Set in 1825 in London and the Colony of New South Wales, it follows the life of Eglantine, daughter of the mysteriously prosperous Mr Amberline Stark.
“Join Sandra in a conversation about love knots and cut ties, old worlds and new beginnings, and the importance of taking a chance,” said a notice from the Library.
The Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett said: “This is an event the Hawkesbury community should definitely support as it may lead to other opportunities in the coming years.”
The Sydney Writers’ Festival is an annual literary festival which presents over 300 events, attracting audiences of over 100,000 throughout Sydney and participating suburbs.
It brings together writers from various forms and backgrounds, including contemporary novelists, writers of nonfiction, plus a range of popular personalities and international guests, and takes place at various locations across Sydney from 22 to 28 May.
Sandra Leigh Price lives in Sydney, and graduated from the Australian National University, Canberra, with a Double Major in English Literature and Drama.
Her author talk at Hawkesbury Library is a free event with refreshments. Booking are essential via www.hawkesburylibrary.eventbrite.com, or call 4560 4460.
